Quick Pizza Sauce

Quick and Easy Pizza Sauce

This is such as quick, easy, and economical pizza sauce to make that you’ll ask yourself why you ever bothered with store-bought sauce.  It keeps in the fridge for up to a week or you can freeze it for up to three months.  It’s a family favourite in our house.

  1. 1 regular (15 oz) can tomato sauce

  2. 1 small can tomato paste

  3. 1 tsp dried oregano

  4. ½ tsp each garlic powder, salt, and pepper

  5. fresh basil, optional

Mix all ingredients together in a blender.  You can adjust the seasonings to suit your taste, perhaps adding more oregano, garlic, or even a pinch of brown sugar if you like it really sweet.  Roughly chop basil and add to puree, if desired.

This is enough sauce for roughly 4 - 6 pizzas.  Refrigerate leftover sauce for no more than a week or freeze it in a zip-lock bag for up to three months.

This sauce is perfect for homemade or store-bought pizza crusts, calzones, French bread pizzas, meatball sandwiches, or mini English muffin pizzas.
