We’ll put your submissions past our expert judging panel and post the favourites here, as well as on our sidewalk chalkboard. You’ll be the talk of the neighbourhood... in a good way!

Chilly autumn air
inspires chili making

Snow and ice below
Conspire to chill me through
Hot nuts warm me up
Snow falling outside
Keep the fires burning bright
With chiles and spice.
Pour on the Hot Sauce
in the Heat of the Cold night
to Spice up your Life.

Haiku Lesson for today...
Traditional Japanese Haiku often involves a reference to the season... but we figure seasonings are close enough.
Double entendre - a word or phrase with two different meanings, particularly if one is risqué - is another tradition.
Extra style points are awarded for using larger words with many syllables rather than many words with fewer syllables,
for example:
“One Habanero”
is more impressive than
“One red hot pepper”
